Ghn is looking for an experienced
Construction Labourer
Responsible for assisting with assembling, connecting, and installing various types of pipe for sewers (storm and sanitary) and watermains. Ensure alignment of pipe and that pipe bedding is prepped, backfilled and compacted.
Responsibilities
- Cut pipe to required lengths
- Ensure pipe is clean and free of debris prior to installation
- Grade and level trenches using hand tools and tamping machines
- Assist with the installation of concrete structures and watermain appurtenances
- Work as a team member of the sewer crew in daily construction activities
- Other general labour duties as required
Requirements
- Experience in heavy civil construction is considered an asset
- Must be able to perform manual labor in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting (in excess of 50 lbs)
- Ability to competently follow instructions from supervisory staff
- Effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisory staff
- Ability to travel to job sites in London and surrounding areas
- Always adhere to health and safety policy
